Hello and welcome to K9 Design Northallerton.

My name is Viv. I am a dog groomer and a pet and wildlife photographer based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

My passion has always been with animals, since I can first remember. Growing up in a small village called Upsall, just outside of Thirsk, North Yorkshire, I'm a real country girl at heart. Surrounded by every animal imaginable, we would rescue cats, dogs, birds, chinchillas, we even had 3 rescue donkeys. It was inevitable that I would grow up to work with animals. I am very lucky to have the career I have and thankful for the paths I have chosen. I work full time dog grooming in my shop located just off the Highstreet in Northallerton, working with all different breeds of dogs from chihuahua to newfoundland. I also work part time as a pet and wildlife photographer capturing those special moments between human and their best friends and the natural beauties of our world. 

I originally got my first camera to take better quality pictures of my beautiful senior whippet, Crystal. But it very quickly became apparent that I didn't have a clue how to use it or how the settings worked. Alongside my full time dog grooming, I attended night classes, completed several photography courses and worked alongside some amazing photographers. I took my camera out at every possible opportunity to practice and in April 2024 my hard work finally paid off when I qualified to be a pet and wildlife photographer.  

My aim is to capture those special moments between owners and pets. Those moments that often are just a memory. How often do you look into your pets eyes, kiss them on the forehead and tell them you love them? Now how many photos do you have of you doing so? Often these are the moments shared just between you and your beloved pets but the moment is never captured. We can't deny we all love a sit and pose photo however for me photography goes  deeper than that and I like to float in the background and capture the natural moments shared together. Whether you have a new puppy or an elderly dog going out for their last walk, maybe you would like to take your dog to your wedding or child's christening? Whatever the reason for your photoshoot, I can offer bespoke packages to suit all. Although located in Northallerton, I am happy to travel to accommodate you with your special day.
